10Th joint call Spain (CDTI) – India (DST-TDB) bilateral projects for financing r & D in the following sectors: clean technologies (renewable energy, water and environment), the internet of things (smart mobility, smart grids, smart cities), digital health and medical devices, technologies agrifood and any other sector of mutual interest.

The CDTI,E.P.E.the ministry of science and innovation, indian and the department of science and technology (DST), together with Technology Development Board (TDB), have reached an agreement with the aim of publishing a new joint call for the submission of proposals for technology cooperation: clean technologies (renewable energy, water and environment), the internet of things (smart mobility, smart grids, smart cities), digital health and medical devices, technologies Agrifood and any other sector of mutual interest.

Characteristics of the projects to file

The project should be geared towards development or significant improvement in a product, process or innovative service with market prospects.

It must have at least with the participation of a spanish partner and an indian partner:

  • On the part of India has to participate, at least, a company that, in turn, may be accompanied by other agencies (universities, research centres).
  • On the part of Spain has to participate, at least, a company that, optionally, you can go in collaboration with other agencies of investigation (universities, OPIs and centres of innovation and technology) contracted in the budget.
  • The proposal must be balanced, both in technical and financial resources, between the parties and the results should benefit the same (no country or a member may have more than 70% of the budget).

The 10th called CDTI-DST TDB is open to r & D projects led by an enterprise and market-oriented in the following areas of interest:

  • Clean Tech (Renewables, Water, Environmental): Economically competitive production processes and products, critical materials and/or energy that reduce, replace and/or reuse resources and/or aim for sustainability and environmentally friendly processes and/or technologies. Also including Drinking Water, Water Purification, Water Desalination, Irrigation Technologies and Waste Water Treatment & Management in the subarea of Water Technologies.
  • Internet of Things (Smart Mobility, Smart Grids, Smart Cities, etc.).
  • Digital health and medical devices: includes categories such as mobile health (mHealth), health information technology (IT), wearable devices, telehealth and telemedicine, and personalized medicine.
  • Agro & Food Technologies: Competitive and sustainable technologies and applications to improve agriculture, aquaculture and food production, the supply chain, including cold engineering/cold chain, distribution channels until the end consumers and looping cycle/end of life (food safety, farming and food processing technologies, processing and packaging technologies).
  • Any other sector of mutual interest.

Deadlines for submission

Opening of the call for papers: 25 september 2023.

Deadline for submission of applications:extended deadline to 22 march 2024 (18:30 IST – 15:00 CET)

During this period was required to submit, at the same time, both in TDB, indian partners, as in the CDTI, spanish partners, such requests for the project in partnership, fulfilling the requirements and documentation requested by each entity.

Resolution projects selected: october 2024.

Procedure for submission of proposals

The recruitment procedure is as follows, to distinguish between phases of international application and financing. The main funding of the spanish participation in these projects will be done through the financing ofresearch and development projects (PID, type (c).

For the international application, participants must submit the CDTI and TDB, simultaneously, until 18:30 IST 15:00 CET on 23 february 2024 (local time of each agency funding partners), the corresponding applications accompanied by the following international documents compulsory (in english), common to all partners: "Application form"andconsortium agreementand signed by all partners.

In the case of spanish companies, the presentation will be undertaken on-line throughelectronic site CDTIby submitting a draft & Spain Innovating India Programme (ISIP).

The participants from India must conduct their application in TDB meeting it reflected in the text of the joint call as well as in itswebsite.

Once the eligibility of the proposal by the CDTI, the spanish entity (each of them, if there are several in the consortium) will be notified through the electronic platform GPPCDTI which invites you to submit the request of national funding for its proposal. There will, therefore, a request of national funding for each of the spanish companies in the consortium.

Evaluation of proposals

Each national agency, the CDTI in spain and DST (TDB) in India, conduct an evaluation of proposals received, on the basis of agreed criteria (specified in the text of the so-called) and following the same methodology.

Once the process of evaluation, will be convened in order to coordinate bilateral commissions on the joint resolution end indicating the projects eligible for funding in the context of this year.

The financing of the indian partners will be done with the funds and the conditions of TDB and the spaniards may be financed through the financing ofresearch and development projects (PID, type (c).
