Since 1994, the CDTI has been manager of structural funds, through a block grant (1994-1999) or as an intermediary (currently) for the cofinancing of business projects of I + D + I, being one of the pioneers in the use of structural funds for this purpose.

The cofinancing of the proceedings of the CDTI with european funds has increased the scope of its funding, to give it greater intensity, giving priority to the regional impact -adecuándose to the needs and capabilities of innovative fabric of communities Autónomas-, generate new capacities in the less developed regions and strengthen cooperation between the CDTI and CC.AA.

Structural Funds and investment In Europe (EIE Funds)

The Structural Funds and investment In Europe (EIE Funds), managed jointly by the european commission and the european union, are used to invest in job creation and an economy and a sustainable european environment and healthy. The EIE Funds is mainly concentrated in five sectors:

  • Research and innovation
  • Digital technologies
  • Low carbon economy
  • Sustainable management of natural resources
  • Small businesses

The funds are:

  • European Regional development fund (ERDF)
  • European Social Fund (ESF)
  • The cohesion fund (FC)
  • European agricultural fund for Rural development (EAFRD)
  • European Fund maritime and Fishing (FEMP)
