The CDTI Innovation participates in a one-day briefing on the new business opportunities that provide the european sincrotrones
The CDTI innovation has participated today in the dayIndustry opportunities in light source infrastructuresheld in Cerdanyola del vallès, in which representatives of major european sincrotrones have made known to the new business opportunities offered by these inslaciones in the coming years
Thiseventit has been opened by Xavier Masso, deputy director-General for investigation of the Generalitat and Roberto Wheat, head of the department of big facilities and programmes of DualCDTI Innovation.
In the coming years, some of the most important european sincrotrones intend to perform the update of its facilities both in the compound of accelerators as in the incorporation of new lines of light at the sincrotrón. As a result, new business opportunities, mainly in the fields of imams, diagnostic systems, RF, X-ray Optical, empty and criogenia, mechanics, electronics and IT.
In this regard, this day has been geared to report on the forthcoming industrial investment in ALBA II, DESY-PETRAIV, DIAMOND2 ELETTRA2 SOLEIL2, and, to be implemented in the short and medium term.
Throughout the event, representatives and experts in this sector has publicized the important role played by european sincrotrones by its ability to accelerate particles with extremely high energies, creating a bundle of electrons that travels almost at the speed of light. This allows light to study the matter at radiation and molecular and it can carry out tests whose results can be very valuable to society.
Roberto Wheat, head of the department of big facilities and programmes of DualCDTI Innovation"has highlighted the important role played by the spanish technology industry in the provision of equipment and of high-tech systems for the great scientific infrastructure, which leads to an income of around 120 million euros annually".
It also stressed the importance of this sector known as “ industry of science ” for its technological capacity, its production of very high added value and their innovative and exporter.
