The CDTI Innovation disseminates a tender for the development of sensors and detention of boats for border surveillance
The CDTI Innovation publishes the initiative of Pre-Commercial Public Purchase for the development of sensors and detention of boats for border surveillance, control of illicit trafficking and irregular immigration. These systems will also be able to combat threats to the citizens as well as the criminal and terrorist activities; the protection of public spaces; critical infrastructures and heritage; smuggling and the free and safe movement of people and goods

Identified need
The iberian peninsula is situated only 14 kilometres of the african continent, becoming exit and entry point for the natural goods between europe and africa. In addition, it is a strategic enclave for drug trafficking to europe, as well as illegal immigration from africa and of smuggling.
There are also some 8,000 kilometres of coastline that is, approximately, Spain, making it difficult to monitor and facilitate the entry of illegal drugs is done through low-cost boats. Likewise, many people are trying to accede to Europe through our country, specifically, by the Strait of Gibraltar, through precarious boats on many occasions shipwrecked in the midst of the voyage.

Applicant
Ministry of Interior, ministry of State for security. Civil guard
Technological challenge raised
The basic mission of the sensors optrónicos entails providing sharp images, stable, with high resolution and contrast, long-range and in all lighting conditions, day and night, so that, to an object observed in suspicious activity, is to create alarms for some time in advance to allow interception.
The continuation of the decisive progress in this field in recent decades allows obtaining detectors on the band with high sensitivities infrared thermal and spatial resolutions, able to provide images of objects of interest, both to continuously in the light of day and in full darkness, as well as with the Optical aim stabilized and secluded allowing exterior shocks with extending a very great distances from the same benefits of comment in any light.
