The CDTI Innovation disseminates a call to promote technological collaboration with Korea

Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KYATS), the public korean funding, has published a So-Called “ unilateral JOINT R & D ” to promote cooperation in r & D between korean companies and research centres, universities and companies in third countries, including spain, in a wide range of technologies with great potential future

Submission of projects

The projects are fundedthrough a grantwith funds from the funding agency KYATS and must reflect the following characteristics:

  • The outcome of the same must be a product, process or innovative service in the areas identified by KYATS cutting-edge as “ industries ”.
  • The consortium should comprise at least a korean company as a leader and one entity española (center for research and development, university, company) with at least 40 per cent of total budget.
  • The duration of projects may be between 12 and 36 months, with the possibility of an extension of 24 months.
  • The proposals, provided for civilian use, must be considered in any of the following Areas: semiconductor technology, batteries, biotechnology, mobility devices, robotics (displays), artificial intelligence and emerging industries.
  • The assessment is undertaken by the agency KYATS based on the degree of innovation and technological challenge.

Procedure for submission of proposals

The proposals should be submitted by the korean company project leader in the portal applications KYATS online, including the required documents, including a memory and a consortium.

The time of submission of proposals will be open until31 may 2024.In july 2024the time frame for approval of projects.

Spain

The contribution of the spanish entity in the project must be at least 40 per cent of total budget. The coordinator has to be a korean entity.

Aid will be on a grant with a maximum of 2 billion wones per year to a maximum of 3 years (a total of 6 billion wones per project), with the possibility of extension for 2 years with the same intensity of funding.
