Eureka
EUREKA is an intergovernmental initiative to support r + D + i cooperative at european level, which aims to boost the competitiveness of european companies through promoting the realization of technological projects, the development of products, processes and/or services with clear commercial interest in the international market and based on innovative technologies.
It is directed to any company or spanish research centre capable of undertaking an r & D + i status implemented in collaboration with at least one company and/or research center in another country of the network Eureka.
Each country bore the financing of their organizations. it endorses their Eureka projects approved through a quality label "" that besides being a promotional element and recognition of the technological level of the company promoter, makes it a creditor of a public finance, which in the case of España is favourable.
In EUREKA there are no predetermined technological lines. They all belong, provided they have an innovative character. The content of the projects promoted by the participants, in accordance with the particular needs of each consortium. However, Eureka can encourage the development of projects in Technological areas considered of strategic importance.
Nearly all european countries are members of the programme also member states or partners outside. The member states or partners of Eureka are: Albania, Austria, belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, canada, south korea, croatia, cyprus, denmark, slovakia, slovenia, spain, Estonia, finland, france, greece, hungary, iceland, ireland, Israel, italy, latvia, lithuania, luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, monaco, Montenegro, netherlands, norway, Poland, Portugal, united kingdom, czech republic, romania, San Marino, Serbia, Sweden, switzerland, turkey and ukraine. Furthermore, the european union is also a full member.
As partners in Eureka are today, brazil, Chile, singapore and south africa.
In addition, in the projects may intervene participants from other countries, provided they do so in collaboration with two member states.
What role does the CDTI?
The CDTI carry Eureka general promotion of and coordination, evaluation and follow-up (NPC) of the proposals and projects involving entities in spain. This is done since 1985 by delegation from the ministry. Currently, the CDTI is also responsible for the high-level representation (HLR) by ministerial delegation and its president participates in the Ministerial conference Eureka.

Calls from EUREKA projects
InEurekait is possible to submit projects at any time during the year withmember states, although it is true that the centre for technological development and innovation (CDTI) participates in the so-calledEurekawith specific of various kinds:
- Bilaterales: seeking to optimize the synchronization between the tools of financing devoted to the national level to projectsEureka.
- Multilaterales: who seek to generate projects in a specific matter to a group of countries Eureka, or to any country outside Eureka to foster cooperation beyond the countries of the programme. The so-called with countries outside Eureka are known asGlobalstars
