At the global level, is accounted for more than 44 private initiatives active in this field, supported by investment of more than 7 billion.
The ITER project, an overall bet for future energy
ITER is one of the largest bookmaker to demonstrate the global scientific and technological feasibility of obtaining energy by nuclear fusion magnetic confinement. In its construction, which develops site in Cadarache (France), involved The 34 countries.new tokamakITER is designed as a secure source of large-scale free and demanding.
With cost an estimated 25,000 million euros, 90 per cent of the financing of the project has come from the contributions of partners. The european agency F4E, based in Barcelona, is responsible for 45 per cent of this contribution, which reinforces the weight of Spain in the development of ITER.
Spain, on nuclear fusion european
In addition to host the headquarters of the european Agency for DomesticITER,Fusion for Energy (F4E), based in Barcelona, spain has the National Laboratory mergeEnergy research centre, environmental and Technological (CIEMAT)and a strong network of research centres in merger. This is compounded by the construction of the acceleratorIFMIF-DONESin Granada, installation Only that will study the material to be used in the first wall of future fusion reactors.
Spanish companies have achieved a prominent position in international staff of the ITER project, to position itself as a third country in the volume of purchases byIOandF4E. This position has been reached in an environment of high technological competitiveness and without guaranteed financial return.
