The CDTI Innovation analyzes with other european agencies the social impact of their instruments of aid to businesses
Representatives from over 30 european agencies for innovation, grouped in the network TAFTIE, met yesterday in Bern (Switzerland) to discuss the role of this network in the impetus to innovation in its different forms
Experts from various fields, including the academy, the company, communication and public administration, have made your point of view identified various challenges and proposing solutions for optimizing the role of the european agencies that promote social and technological innovations and ultimately seek to generate changes in society. This approach, needed to resolve the major challenges of our time, implies challenges, both in the design of instruments, as well as in its implementation and evaluation.
Compared to the difficulty of incorporating this new approach to the agencies, the experts' proposal is to strengthen internal capacities, to resort to partnerships with multidisciplinary actors with a clear social approach and involve the development of innovations to end users.
During this time there have also been instances of practice of innovations, for their contributions, they had a great social acceptance. The message has been most frequent need to strengthen the channels through which social innovations come onto the market, now very dependent indeed upon public administrations.
Participation of CDTI Innovation
On the part of theCDTI InnovationAscension, Barajas airport, the department of strategy, monitoring and evaluation, has highlighted the role of this agency in Spain. In particular, with regard to theNeotec programmethat manages, has incorporated the CDTI criteria in the social impact assessment of this programme with the aim of placing in persons, both in those involved in the processes of technological innovation and end-users of technology.
Beyond the impact of Neotec in the generation of cutting edge technology, knowledge transfer and the consolidation of businesses, this programme has a high potential to contribute to solving social issues. This is reflected in several derived its evaluation:
- 40% Of jobs created by the beneficiary enterprises are due to the support of Neotec. In addition, the programme generates a positive impact on the recruitment of under 25 years and a 7 per cent of enterprises employing persons with disabilities.
- Neotec companies are more likely to promote gender equality through such measures as are the control of the remuneration or the plans for the prevention of harassment, in an environment where the presence of women is 34 per cent of the templates and 28 per cent of management positions.
- The social aspects that are becoming more common project Neotec are related to health and quality of life (60 per cent), followed by the digital divide (24 per cent).
- The most frequent environmental objectives are the reduction in carbon footprint (55 per cent of the projects); climate change mitigation (49 per cent) and the transition to the circular economy (45 per cent).
- Neotec has a positive impact on the policy of corporate responsibility, specifically in the incorporation of aspects related to the arrangements for diversity (+ 10%), health and safety at work (15 per cent) and proper enforcement of tax liabilities (+ 12%).
From this evidence,CDTI Innovationhas adopted the objective of enhancing the social impact of programmes run by, interacting with members of the ecosystem of innovation and promoting the rapprochement of public policies of I + D + I to the society.

The CDTI innovation is the public funding of innovation of the ministry of science, innovation and universities that promotes innovation and technological development of spanish companies, channeling requests for funding and support for r & D & I projects of spanish entities at the state and international levels.
