A technology-based company (EBT) is a company whose activity focuses on the exploitation of products or services that require the use of technologies and knowledge developed since the research activity. The EBT base their business strategy or activity in the intensive domain of scientific and technical knowledge.

The proposals financed by this programme must have a business strategy based on the development of technology and competitive factor for differentiation in the company. Not considered those companies whose business model is based primarily on services to third parties without technology development.

Evolution of the agenda (2002-2014)

In 2002 it adopted the first aidNEOTEC programmeby granting generally repayable subsidies of up to €1 million. This pattern of aid was in force until 2014, when he was re-designed and the programme was transformed into a programme of grants.

In the period 2002-2014 adopted 639 projects NEOTEC with repayable subsidies.
