The CDTI innovation presents the spanish industrial capacities in merger

The ecosystem of nuclear fusion in Spain is a success story of collaboration público-privada. Our country has an important role in the areas of both the generation of Science and technology generating an industry with leading international companies in niche high technological value that has managed to position itself in the first positions of the ranking of awarding of contracts for ITER, flagship of european road map. It also has unique infrastructure such as sterallator TJ-II and merge technologies National laboratory CIEMAT Fusion - and the future IFMIF-DONES.

The european strategy has been focused on development of ITER as a prototype technologist and then as functional prototype DEMO to demonstrate the possibility of drawing power viable way from the merger. However, at the global level are emerging that many private initiatives aiming to accelerate technological development of fusion energy through ambitious programmes using private funding.

In this context, the european commission intends to launch an initiative co-programada DPI (Public-Private-Parthership) in the funding of key developments in technologies for the merger and for the future reactor technologies DEMO, tritium, magnets HTS, handling, etc, which is a true paradigm shift.

We are at the beginning of a transition that will require an appropriate positioning of the spanish industry. At the national level are also mobilizing initiatives that would allow you to place our country for the location of DEMO.

Informative workshop

In this context, this jornada informativa aims to make the process begun by the commission to a future DPI in the field of merger; analyse the strengths of Spain in the various key technologies and know the plans for the future reactor DEMO.

To this end, experts and representatives of various agencies will address these matters and also held several meetings related to various very innovative technologies.
