Science and innovation missions 2024

The recovery Plan, transformation and Resilience (PRTR) outlines the road map for the modernization of the spanish economy, the recovery of economic growth and job creation, for economic reconstruction, inclusive and resilient following the crisis of the COVID, and to meet the challenges of the next decade. This Plan will receive the financing of the Next Generation EU funds, including the Mechanism for the recovery and resilience.

The missions to convene this meeting also in conformity with the initiativeEspaña 2050, which set the foundations and proposals for a national strategy for the Long Term, anticipating the main challenges and problems confronting Spain in the next 30 years.

Science and innovation missions

Overall Objective

This call of grants, aimed at the financing of r & D projects in cooperation, led by enterprises, that meet the challenges socio-económicos facing developed societies.

In the invitation 2024 are selected the following missions:

  • Safe driving adapted to new models of electromovilidad and autonomous vehicles.
  • Buildings more efficient, sustainable, environmentally friendly and adapted to climate change.
  • Development of a flexible logistics environment automatically, safe and intelligent.
  • Development and strengthening of the ecosystem spanish integrated photonics.
  • Decontamination of ecosystems.
  • Digital health: in further developing biosanitarias technologies based on digital systems.
  • Sustainability and efficiency of air transport.
  • Sustainability and efficiency in processing and packaging for food industry of quality and safe.
Beneficiaries

Groupings formed by a minimum of two and a maximum of six companies; at least two of which were self-contained.

Companies must be validly created units have independent legal personality and registered office in Spain.

The representative of the clustering shall be a large company or an sme, excluding the form of micro-enterprises.

In the consortium should be involved at least one company with the status of smes.

The resulting grouping will not have legal personality, hence one of the participants will act as coordinator or representative of the same before the CDTI.

The representative will receive the payment of aid and granted and are responsible for the members of the cluster.

The members of the group, they must subscribe to a prior to the formulation of the request, an internal agreement to regulate their functioning.

This budget, a minimum of 30 million euros for projects falling under the mission on "sustainability and efficiency of air transport".

Shall be financed from budgetary applications 28.50.46QC.749.09 of the general state budget for the year 2022 and 28.50.46QC.749.09 of the general state budget for the year 2023.

Characteristics of the assitance

Subvención up to the limits of maximum intensity: 65 per cent large company, 75 per cent Medium-Sized Enterprises and 80 per cent.

The amount of aid individualized is determined by the eligible cost real project, the characteristics of the beneficiary and the availability of budgetary resources.

For each project and beneficiary, the maximum intensity of aid be measured by the weight of each type of activity (industrial research or experimental development) and the maximum intensity in each case.

The amount of aid may not exceed the thresholds set out in article 4 of the rules of procedure (EU) no. 651/2014, of 17 june 2014.

Characteristics of the project

Multi-year projects developed in any spanish CC.AA..

  • Eligible budget of €1.5 million minimum and maximum of eur 6,000,000.
  • Minimal budget eligible per company 175,000 euros.
  • Duration: home in 2024. Finalization: 31 december 2025.
  • Balanced distribution of the budget over the duration of the project.
  • Minimum subcontracting of 5 per cent of eligible budget to research bodies.
  • Any participant may be responsible for more than 70 per cent of eligible project budget.
  • Participants will respond to potential obligations of compensation for activities that have been undertaken to make. In case of default, all members of the grouping and severally liable to the edge of the assistance it had been granted by its participation in the project.
Call funding

This call is included among the actions envisaged in the national Plan for recovery, transformation and Resilience, which will receive the financing of the funds "Next Generation EU", including the mechanism for the recovery and resilience.

They will not be subject to help those proceedings, directly or indirectly cause significant harm the environment ("DNSH" principle for its initials in english), in accordance with article 17 of the rules of procedure (EU) 2020/852 of the european parliament and the council of 18 june on the establishment of a framework to facilitate sustainable investments and by the amending regulation (EU) 2019/2008.

In the case of subcontracting, grantee of aid will provide for mechanisms to ensure that subcontractors comply with the principle of DNSH.

Specific objectives

Projects should fall into one of the missions identified in the convening, so that its objectives were oriented towards one or more of the areas of improvement proposed for the mission.

However, the projects presented may propose new additional complementary to those already defined, provided that they were consistent with the mission selected.

Gastos elegibles

Are the following direct costs:

  • Staff costs
  • Costs of equipment and material inventariable
  • Costs of contractual research, expertise and patents acquired or obtained by license from external sources.
  • Consultancy costs and equivalent services designed exclusively to the project.
  • Consultancies for support in coordinating efforts of the representative of the grouping (with a maximum of 15,000 euros).
  • Overhead and other additional operating costs resulting directly from the project.
  • Expenditure of the report of the auditor (with a limit of 2.5 per beneficiary).

With regard to the indirect costs: shall be calculated by applying a percentage of 20% on direct costs.

The overall cost of outsourced activity for a beneficiary may not exceed 50 per cent of eligible budget of the beneficiary.

Incentive effect

You are deemed to have an incentive effect aid if, before the beginning of the activity, the beneficiary has submitted the applications to the convening of Missions Science and innovation.

Accumulation and incompatibilities of additional aid perception

The aid granted in the framework of this call is incompatible, during its implementation period, with any other public aid at european level, state or autonomous community with identical objectives and purpose.
